As you can see Ruth was EASY to put to bed last night at 7:30 and 12 hours later she is still sleeping! Yahoo!
When we arrived at RDU yesterday, Granddaddy was there to pick us up. It is amazing how well Ruth adjusts to our family. She let Granddaddy give her a hug. I guess he looks the same in person as he did on Skype.
Then when we were putting luggage in the van, another van arrived! Juli, Kelcey and all the cousins had checked out of school and came to welcome us home. Oh my! Ruth just stood there as all the crew filed out of the van full of excitement! Heidi's counterpart had hit the USA soil! They are going to have a good time growing up together. It was amazing how all the cousins looked like they had grown in 3 weeks! (Or maybe it was us adjusting from the shorter people were we accustomed to being around)
Anyway, we survived the car seat ride (I just fed her all the way to Spring Hope before she fell asleep). Then we were WARMLY welcomed home. I don't know who all had a part, but THANKS to everyone known and unknown!!
(Grass cut and yard edged, food in fridge, Ruth's favorites waiting, precious notes and food at the door,welcome home signs hanging and written on driveway, balloons, pink bow and probably stuff done we overlooked!) That excitement helped us to have the energy to get bathed, start a load of stinky laundry, and stay awake until 6-7pm. So again we thank all our neighbors, famiy and friends who took care of thins back home so we had once less worry while away!!
We love everyone and can't wait for everyone to meet Ruth! She's a precious, chosen one, who has already been a blessing to our family!
As Timon said we should sing when we landed in Chicago... "I'm proud to be an American!"
